About

Bon Sante Ayiti is a Boston-based nonprofit health care organization founded in 2019 to provide medical services in and around the city of Jeremie Haiti.

Founder

James Pelham

‘I want to change the perception of Haiti and it’s going to start small and slowly, but will compound. The negative narratives will be replaced with chronicles of health and balance as well as respect. These changes are going to be driven by treating and educating the women and children of the society. We need to make healthcare, basic healthcare including immunizations more accessible to regions outside of the capital. Mobile clinics are the solution for our initiative because remote mountainous populated areas do not have standalone hospitals or clinics. '

Board Member

Carine-Ange Tagni

A board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Lehigh Valley Health Network. Carine received her medical degree in 2013 from Drexel University and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2017 at Cooper University of Hospital. She has previous global health experience addressing acute and chronic health care challenges with a primary focus on preventive healthcare, maternity care, and nutrition. Carine is now bringing this knowledge and skill to help address the needs of the population in the Grand Anse Department of Haiti.

‘I am passionate about women’s health issues as they relate to maternal health, reproductive health, and global health. My goal is to always strive to empower women to achieve a healthier life. I participated in many medical missions to provide gynecologic care and education to women in underserved communities of Cameroon and Ghana.

Recently, my work has focused on raising awareness on the cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic dynamics that influence health care disparities’.

We are always looking for good people

Most volunteers at Bon Sante Ayiti work in trash removal projects; picking up, disposing of garbage on the streets of Jeremie. We also have positions for individuals in the medical community to help in our mobile clinic. This could be as personnel giving vaccines or providing prevention and healthcare services. The not so obvious roles also include, social media, website, fundraising, administrating, or coordination. If you would like to help in any capacity please contact us.
